West Highland Way 2010
Looking Back
Well, my boss got to say ‘I told you so’. I lost three toenails due to blisters from the walk.
Despite suffering with my feet, I’ve been bitten by the long distance walking bug. Jacquie, Jess and I now do monthly rambles, making good use of the ‘Time Out Country Walks’ books. I’ve purchased new boots and started planning the next challenge – Hadrian’s Wall Path.
I think if I was to do the West Highland Way again, I might add an extra day. I would stop day 2 at Balmaha. This would result in two short days, but I think it would make it all more manageable for a novice (or those of us who just like to take our time) and allow for more enjoyment of what is a fantastic section along Loch Lomond.
A big thank you to my wonderful husband, John, who has been very supportive since I first mentioned my crazy scheme.
Thanks also to Stuart, from Walking Places, who has provided this great home on the Internet.
